Me in a (large) nutshell

Myself and my (sometimes) tyrannical two year old Maya
For years my friends and family have told me that I should write a book. Obviously I have neither the time or experience at this point to do such a thing. I've decided that since I have so many pent up words that apparently need to be expressed somehow, a blog will work in the meantime.  Eventually I will get around to writing that best seller (I hope). Since I haven't had a sudden flash of inspiration while sitting on a train to write about wizards or had a vivid dream about sparkly vampires, it most likely will feature the things I know the most about: my children. (Although if I can manage to work sparkly glowing vampire wizards into the plot somehow I'm sure I could make a fortune). And if I ever do write a book, I will need one heck of an editor because I excel at tangents and run on sentences.

Typical attitudes: Eliana (6) and Amaya (2)
Right now I am the mother of three beautiful girls. Eliana is a very talkative six year old who is incurably  friendly. She has decided that her mission in life is to be friends with the whole world. And I'm pretty sure she could do it if she wanted to. Amaya is as stubborn and as mischievous as Ellie is talkative. She has a very impish Puck like manner to her, especially as she reaches for that forbidden cookie. The newest addition to our family is Kiara. As of yet she is still quite young and it's hard to say exactly what kind of personality she's going to have. I do know that once the teenage years roll around, we are in alot of trouble.

Baby Kiki (2 months)
I've been married to my wonderful husband for about 3 years now and as of right now he's deployed to Afghanistan. This is his second tour and we are both really sick of deployments. Courtesy of the U.S. Army we have lead a rather nomadic lifestyle (averaging about a move per year) and hopefully we end up somewhere more permanent soon.

If you are looking for random facts about me personally:

  • I have really odd and vivid dreams than entertain me endlessly.
  • I make references in my head to obscure books that no one else has read.
  • I have a new found love for Indian food courtesy of Shelley Palmer.
  • I don't feel entirely complete unless I am reading some sort of book. Any book. I devour them. I could literally write a whole blog just about the books I love.
  • My family is extraordinarily important to me, my husband and siblings are probably my best friends in the whole world.
  • I also have many other best friends who have stuck with me through many interesting and rather difficult times.
  • I am not a dog person. I don't consider this a character flaw.
  • I am ridiculously klutzy. I have broken bones trying to walk across flat surfaces. It takes talent.
  • I am a nerd. I would rather shop at Office Max than the mall.
  • I (like most of the known world) love Harry Potter. The theme song is my ring tone and it makes me smile every time someone calls me.
  • I love big words and have a tendency to write long run on sentences.
